i am employed!!

well, the day has finally arrived. i have a job. after many dead ends at fine establishments like american eagle and starbucks, i have been hired by Ashland Place United Methodist as their interim youth director. is the Lord amazing or what. He had no doubt where i was going to be. its crazy how smooth things go when you just go where He says. as little as i wanted to return to mobile, al.. that's where sweet Jesus was leading. and what do you know, about the time i returned and got a backpacking trip in... things starting rolling and i had an offer i couldnt resist. im all about some youth ministry. pretty much, its the best possible job i could have never imagined i would be doing for the year before grad school.
today was the first day on the job. i set up my office, which took the entire day, and attended a staff meeting. i cant say all that much for the staff meeting... its very interesting to see how things go among the staff of a church. im not going to judge from only one meeting, but lets just say im not sure we collectively set our hearts on the Lord's agenda. im excited to see how future one's run. i kind of just observed today. im not too great at keeping my mouth shut, so we will see what happens. there are definitely some cool people i work with.
ok, enough about that. let's just discuss a corny thought i had on this Hallowed day. i was thinking about the whole halloween thing, and how i really dont know what its all about but i think its fun and i wish i was little again... but those thoughts turned into this. i started thanking God for not being a trick. you know, the whole "trick or treat"... He is just so good in that way. we never have to doubt that He does not love us. He is faithful and true. Pretty much He is ALL TREAT. He defines treat... so on this day of pumpkin and ghost, i give all praise and glory to the one and only Holy Ghost, Jesus, Father... the all Treat and no Trick Creator of the Universe. He is mmmm good.
